Okinawa Times Competition - July 2010
On the 11 July 2010 the annual "22th Okinawa Times Competition" kata
tournament was held at the Kenritsu Budokan in Naha.
754 teams with 2390 athletes in total took part in this competition.
My dojo, "Chatan Karate Kyoushitsu" participated with 8 teams this
year, and 4 team (double than last year) took a medal.
The B-team consisting of Moe, Asaka, Naohiro performed Seyunchin;
the E-team consisting of Yuu, Yuusuke, Riku, Yuusuke performed
Gekisai dai-ni.
Both teams performed well, achieving second placed and the silver
medal. Also the C-team consisting of Naoto, Koudai, Keigo with Saifa
and D-team consisting of Yuusaku, Keishi, Shoutarou with Gekisai
dai-ni got a medal.
I was very pleased and satisfied with their effort and their issue.
My congratulations to everyone.
Okinawa Times 2010 competition
Open Kumite Tournament 2010
On the 9th of May 2010 a kumite competition at the Ginowan
Convention Center In Okinawa was held , under the
slogan "i love karate",
56 Dojo with 337 athletes took part in this
event, kids and adults, and everyone's
level was really high.
This is a full contact tournament and is
also the most important of Okinawa.
My dojo participated for the first time at
the kumite competition with 5 young athletes. They where
well prepared,
but did not take home any medals.
Anyway it was a important experience that
improved the spirit of the eveyone and
I hope that they will
do better next time.

Naha-shi Karate-do Senshu-ken competition - September 2009
On the 27th of September 2009 the 16th annual Naha-shi Karate-do
Senshu-ken competition was held in Naha (Okinawa).
Twenty-seven of our young karatekas competed in the individual and team
events (7 teams and 15 singles).
For the first time we where proud to bring home gold medals, proof that
my students are continually improving.
I am hugely satisfied with their effort and results.
Congratulation to:
- D team, Riku, Shu and Yuusuke - GOLD medal
- E team, Mashu, Shon and Reo - BRONZE medal

On the 12 July 2009 the "21. Okinawa Times Competition" kata tournament
was held at the Ginowan Convention Center.
124 dojo's consisting of 731 teams with 2264 athletes in total took
part in this event.
My dojo, "Chatan Karate Kyoushitsu" participated with 9 teams (2 more
than last year),
The A-team consisting of Masaki, Moe, Asaka performed Seyunchin and
the H-team consisting of Keishi, Yuusaku, Riku, Yuusuke performed Gekisai
dai-ichi.
Both teams performed well, achieving second placed and the silver medal.
I was very pleased and satisfied with their effort, my students level
is gradually improving.
This time we practiced a lot harder and were better prepared, even though
it was not quit enough, it was still a good result.
I congratulated all of my students, but pointed out to them that we
will have do practice even more and harder.

Carnival park demonstration - May 2009
On 9 May 2009 my students held a demonstration at Carnival Park in
Chatan (Okinawa).
They performed basic techniques (Kihon), Kata and application (bunkai),
and for the first time sparring techniques with hand mitts, kick mitts
and free sparring (irikumi).
It was a cold day and I am proud of my young students who tolerated
the hot ground and gave a good performance all the same.
First kids demonstration - December 2008
On 20. Dec 2008 we held the 1st of my students demonstration in Hamagawa
Elementary School in Chatan.
They performed kihon, kata (gekisai dai-chi, dai-ni, saifa, seyunchin),
sandan uke-barai, kata renzoku-bunkai (gekisai dai-ichi) and saifa bunkai.
I was very happy to see my students doing their very first demonstration,
because of its success I have decided to organise others in the future.
These demonstations will help the students to improve their techniques
and character.

Ginowan party - December 2008
On 6 Dec 2008 we celebrated the second kids class anniversary with
a demonstration in Ginowan, followed by a party.
This was a great occasion for the children to get experience in karate
as well as an opportunity for socialising.

Okinawa Times Competition - July 2008
The Okinawa Times newpaper sponsored this years youth tournament,
which was held at the Okinawa Kenritsu Budokan on 20. July.
2500 kids from 128 dojo's took part in the event. This is Okinawa's
largest youth karate tournament, welcoming all styles.
We participated with seven teams (3 more than last year). Each team
of 3 kids competed in Gekisai Dai Ichi, Gekisai Dai Ni, Saifa and Seiyunchin
Kata.
Naha City Tournament - November 2007
On the 11. November 2007 Naha City held a youth tournament for team and individual kata.
We participated for the second time in a competition with 4 teams
and 5 individual competitors.
One competitor came 2nd of 29 participants in his category.
Before the event Higaonna Sensei, who attended as a special guest, kindly came to greet my students, which were very happy to meet my Master.
Okinawa Times Competition - July 2007
On 15 July 2007 the OKINAWA TIMES competition was held.
There were around 2700 children competing, divided into 12 divisions.
This is a compulsory competition for children practicing Karate in Okinawa.
It was our first competition and one of our teams also took a medal.
